Masquerade Mask!

Hello dolls!

So, the other day I did a look that was meant to be posted for halloween, but I ended up posting it after halloween. The reason for that is that I feel like this look can be worn any time of the year to any type of event that requires a masquerade mask, and it has it's own theme as it is, which is Masquerade, rather than a halloween look (it can be used for halloween too though). I really love doing these masks! It's so cool because if you have a party, you don't have to deal with buying the mask, holding it when you aren't wearing it, or the uncomfortable itching a normal mask gives your face...etc. Not to mention, it's an original creation that no one else will have! :) This is the 2nd time I did this mask, mainly because it's so fun to do, but also because I wanted to see how much different my makeup application was 3 years later; so I'll show you guys the first one I ever did, at the end of this blog post. I'll show you guys more photos that I didn't post on Instagram (again because I don't like to spam IG feeds with my selfies lol). I'm also attaching the full video that I had made showing off the mask and how it sparkles. Instagram only allows the 15 seconds so that sucked lol It cut my video in half. Video is so much better because it catches all the sparkles that the mask made,  rather than the pictures that kinda made the mask look dull :( Taking this all off after I finished and took photo/video, was super heartbreaking because I was so obsessed with it on. lol But anyway, enough of my rambling...here is the look!

And here is the old mask that I first did in 2011! Lol it's pretty embarrassing how much different that mask is than this one! haha. But hey, we all start somewhere! No one starts out perfect at their art. You can tell how my work changed, not just the mask, but the whole face too. Much more professional, I feel, and that is great motivation for me...hope you guys agree :)

All makeup details for the new mask are on my IG! www.instagram.com/makeupbycharlene
Hope you guys liked/enjoyed reading and watching!

PS: Im also putting the video on my youtube because the quality on here isn't so great for some reason, while you're there, check out the other videos on my youtube channel...and maybe subscribe...please :)

Halloween 2014!

Hello dolls!
I know, it's been a while, i've been trying to get my website back up and running and it's been crazy with school, and work so I haven't found much time for anything. However, I did have time for a few simple halloween looks this month of October and I managed to make them work. So this post will be all about those halloween looks, and i'll post more pictures of the looks that I don't get to post on my Instagram, because of the fact that I don't like to spam people's feeds, so i usually pick my favorite two photos max of any look that I do. But here on my blog, I can make my own rules haha. So... :) Enjoy!

So here is the first halloween look that I did, which was just a simple halloween colored/themed look. I wanted to do a halloween look but wasn't sure what to do just yet, so I just went with the halloween colors rather than an actual costume idea. Here are some photos of that look :)

The "second look"... I basically just took the first look and kept going with it into this cool spider web design that I have been wanting to do, and I'm really happy with the result. When I have an idea in my head, it stays in there and won't go away until I actually do it lol. So anyway, I just put in my red halloween contacts, and the rest was all done with makeup and some stones, here it is...

and that was it basically :/ Lol like I said, I didn't have much time for anything else, but I really wanted to do these looks because they were on my mind...
All the makeup details for these looks are on my Instagram! www.instagram.com/makeupbycharlene

Benefit's PORE-Fessional!

Hello Beauties!
I know, it's been a while, It's just been really crazy with work + school. Anywho, I finally got around to doing a review (with photos) of the AMAZING Benefit product "Pore-fessional Pro Balm." I received the product in my January Glam Bag from Ipsy and this thing is seriously amazing!!! It makes your pores look minimized A LOT, and it also makes any oily part of the skin, Matte <3. I first posted it on my Instagram account (@makeupbycharlene) and I wasn't the only one who used and loved it! I also read/watch all of these Makeup Artists's on that RAVE about this product in their videos. You can put this on before makeup (since it also acts as a primer, after makeup, and touch ups through your day!) So I put together a before and after of the results of the product. You're going to think I used photoshop because of the dramatic difference it made, but I can guarantee you, there is no photoshop used on these pics! The pics are all taken off of my iPhone 5s and I did it while I was at the salon on the weekend (I used the backside camera for more clarity).  Scroll for more!
PS: I've tried a bunch of face/pore minimizers! the only one that stuck to me was Smashbox's Photo Finish, it was good but this one is WAY better! <3 <3 <3 Enjoy! Follow my business makeup account on Instagram please! @makeupbycharlene

The Full-sized bottle that you can buy from any beauty store that sells benefit!

The Before and After of the benefit Pore-fessional Pro Balm!
I swear no photo-shop!
All I have on my face is some Cetaphil moisturizer! Zero makeup, I like applying the cream first!
Minimizes the appearance of pores like no other!
Makes skin appear matte!
Acts as a primer before makeup!
Can also be put over the makeup, throughout your day!
SERIOUSLY!

A look at a busy Saturday at work!

Hello There!
So it was a crazy day at the salon Saturday,  this is typically how weekends go once Wedding season kicks in, which it officialy has! I managed to get a few pics from my clients' makeup and also some other pics from my day. There were lots of weddings and engagements, which means lots of great clients to doll up! Here are some of my favorite ones throughout my day....

This lovely lady wanted a simple clean look, with winged liner, and lots of lashes! She was very satisfied which made me also very very happy :)

This client was unsure of what to do with her makeup, however she wanted a pop of blue without it looking tacky or too much, and we did just that, and she loved it! I love the simpleness of it, and how clean it is (for a blue smokey eye)!

Also loved her hair! Done by one of the Salons hairstylists Helana!

Third favorite of the day was a client who wanted a simple, silver eye, liner and lashes, and she also, loved the end result. Love making my clients happy! <3

How gorgeous is she!? Hair also by the Fabulous Helana! <3

It was a long day of makeup, but it flew by and the end of the day is the most rewarding part, when I get to finish off these clients and they all leave happy and wanting to come back, no greater feeling. :)
I also did makeup on the cutest little girl, she was such a diva! She asked for blush, lipstick, and hand sanitizer! LOL

And of course, while killing those minutes in between the wait for my clients, there has to be some selfie's in order! Lol :D
The lighting at the Salon I work at is just too great <3 Oh yeah and that's me with my blonde hair! And this style is what I call my lazy hair day style. Headband and a braid, no easier and quicker style than this one. I love this skull scarf from Forever 21, and my favorite camera earrings by Betsey Johnson that I received as a gift :)
It was a natural makeup kind of day, just a light/thin layer of Maybelline FIT ME foundation, some under eye concealer also by the Maybelline FIT ME line, some MAC translucent powder to set the foundation and concealer, (so fluffy and light), Covergirl Lashblast waterproof mascara, and a tad bit of Too-Faced blush.
Hope you all enjoyed your Saturday! Next blog post will be the review on a new skin product that I am obsessed with!

Hi!.... I need to figure out the proper blog greetings lol, Still new to this, Anyways, since I didn't have a chance to post anything new on my blog today, I guess I'll post an oldie just for the outfit and hair for this day. This was back in 2012 when my hair was dark, and growing out from the angled bob, with fringe bangs, 2 months prior. I loved it! But I grew it out after that one cut so it would be the proper length for my wedding. That color is my natural color, I had never touched the color of my hair until going blonde recently. I know, this is a random post, but hey. Top is from Forever 21, Skirt is from H&M, Shoes & Necklace are from Forever 21, Gold chain bracelet is Juicy Couture. Goodnight Dolls! <3

Welcome :)

First Post! Hi! :) So I guess a little bit about myself should be shared. I am 21, Happily Married to a man who inspires my creativity even more with his passion turned into career, as a Chef! I am also a current student going for my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. (I know, very different than your typical Makeup Artist, but hey, it's what interests me most in the educational department.) During the week, Im constantly creating new makeup looks, and feeding my creative urges, and on the weekends I work at a Salon doing makeup professionally on my clients, building friendships with my them and seeing them happy with their makeup motivates me even more! However aside from being a Makeup Artist, I also work as a Legal Assistant, in correspondence with my school, to help with the experience and field, It's a job that I also really really enjoy. Why the Legal Assistant job? Well, I plan to go into the Law field, and become a successful Attorney, and the experience, is great for that! Anyway, My hopes for this blog are for my readers and followers to get to know me and passions, spread the word of creativity out, inspire others to show their uniqueness, turn your hobbies into dreams and dreams into reality, and most importantly, have fun with it! New looks will be coming soon to follow up this first blog post, however, I will also be uploading old posts here, and there.
